St. George Episcopal Church News HighlightsUTO Spring IngatheringUnited Thank Offering: Our spring collection will take place on Sunday, May 12, 2013. For those who do not know, UTO is the daily habit of giving thanks for a specific blessing which we have received at that particular moment (the sun is shining or I have plenty of food on my table etc.) by placing coins in the Blue box. On UTO collection day, we transfer the coins to the blue envelopes and place in the offering basket (or just put in the whole box.) A supply of Blue boxes and envelopes are at the back of the church if needed. This money is then sent to the Diocesan ECW treasurer and added to the National ECW treasury to be dispersed to where it will do the most good. We get to give thanks to God for what we have and help someone else at the same time. A check made out to ECW with the notation UTO fund works too. |
